/sapapo/md74

Ladies/Gents,

I have stumbled across an OSS note 1276854. It relates to using MD74 to delete/reorganise forecast requirements in APO and not use RLCDELETE. However I am a little confused as when I am testing the transaction there appears to be no update occurring, by this I mean I have created a test forecast in RRP3, and then executed MD74 for the same product/location/date, after this the forecast remains. Assuming there are no bugs, I am using SCM7.0 release package 3, I have the following questions.

1. Does /SAPAPO/MD74 delete the forecast although I have no sales order or goods issue activity to perform consumption/withdrawal qauntities

2. Should I use /SAPAPO/RLCDELETE to delete my forecast in the past rather than MD74

3. Should I use both jobs combined.

Any information you provide would be helpful

Cheers

Paul

Hi Paul,

The Tcode /sapapo/md74 of realigning the PIR basically delets the forecast as well as enteries of the sales orders and GI already consumed or pegged with demand elementfrom the tables /DPSCHED . Hence if you run /sapapo/md74 that means now the PIR and goods issues have been cleaned from SNP and for any new PIR released from DP to SNP the existing goods issue will not be considered and the fresh PIR will be available for the next consumption.

We are currently using the same program for deletion of past PIR and also cleaning the SNP with every monthly forecast loading cyle .

Also check ithe dates maintained in the program and if the forecast strategy is maintained as 10 for make to stock scenario in your program, if you are facing any issues.

Regarding your last qery, I would suggest that you do not need to run both for deleltion of past PIR .

Imp to note that when you run this program this not only delets the PIR but also the GI data and hence if you intend to just delete the PIR of future / past for any reasons, then in that case you can run the rlcdelete.

Let me know if it helps.

Gaurav,

thank you for replying. Unfortunately I still have some questions, so if you allow me to indulge a little further.

1. Does this program/transaction only work if the requirements strategy is 10?

2. I have created a forecast in my SNP planning book (I have opened the KF for testing), this creates a forecast with an ATP type of FA. I have changed the requirements strategy for this product to 10 normally it is 20. There are no sales orders or GI activities performed. However when I run MD74 nothing appears to happen, the log displays and no orders are re-organised/deleted. therefore when I check RRP3 the forecast order remains? what should be displayed in the log?

Assuming there are no bugs in my system, can you provide the steps to a working solution, by this I mean a very brief description to ensure when MD74 is executed it would delete the forecast. My thoughts were as follows:-

1. Create a forecast in SNP (Type FA)

2. Date of the forecast is today

3. Execute MD74 for same product/location and strategy and same date.

Hi,

If you have strategy 10 then MD74 and RLCDEL will give same results.

MD74 transaction is used to reorganize forecast requirements before releasing new, when there exist scenario of forecast consumption which is possible only using strategy 20 in APO.

Just to check it, carry out following steps:

- Keep strategy 20. Consumption mode should indicate consumption in forward / backward direction

- Add forecast, either manually or from DP

- Create sales order and check how it consumes forecast

- Run /SAPAPO/MD74 see the result. While running MD74 do not select delete orders option, else it will act as /RLCDEL

- Repeat above steps and instead running MD74 run /RLCDEL and see the results.

This should help to understand the difference.

Best regards
