bill of materials in sales orders

Hi Experts,

I have to create a Bom for Parent Mat 1 and child components are Mat 1a,Mat 1b and the material Mat 1b is another bom and it has its own child components Mat 2a,mat2b,mat 2c

Ex :

1.Parent material : Mat 1(ERLA)

Child 1: MAT 1a(NORM)

Child 2 : MAT 1b(NORM)

2.Parent material : Mat1 b (Item Categ.Grp-ERLA)

Child 1 : Mat 2a(NORM)

Child : Mat2b(NORM)

Child : Mat 2c(NORM)

When i create a sales order for the material Mat1 the bom must explode only for mat1.

Possible options :

1.Material determination cannot be used as we cannot maintain the condition records based on customer/material number

2.Material cannot be used as a configurable materials as per the client

minimum requirement is you should have an S& D BOM
your VOV 4 setting for the order type + item category group of header material in material master should point to Item category TAQ for the header material and TAE for the child materials assuming they are not pricing relevant

i´m not very expert on this, but here we have a similar situation for this process and we do not use Bill of material, but material substitution in Market Sales through transaction VB11/2/3.

So when the user is creating the sales order, he can enter with the customer material code, or the child material code, and the material which will run during the whole internal process is the Parent material.
