In standard system you have two options concerning stock transfer:

- one step process

- two step process

Concerning mvt 351 scenario you can use only the two step process - please see SAP online help:

http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/52/38f741a47dc517e10000000a155106/frameset.htm

Standard SAP concept is that when posting GI the ownership of the stock changes. Of course in real life it is not (always) true because the ownership change of the goods doesn't depend (generally) on the fact the goods leave the WH or not. Ownership change is controlled by the agreement of the parties (contract, incoterms) - but sorrowfully SAP cannot manage this (maybe it would be very difficult to solve each and every case in ERP system).

So, please check the link and choose a solution that suits your business requirement, else you have to choose a workaround or go to development.

(E.g. you can define a "stock in transit" storage location for the supplying plant --> first you move the goods into this stock in transit storage location and when the goods arrive at receiving plant you can post them to receivng's plant storage location. Dummy solution...)

Hello again, You wrote me that """(E.g. you can define a "stock in transit" storage location for the supplying plant --> first you move the goods into this stock in transit storage location and when the goods arrive at receiving plant you can post them to receivng's plant storage location. Dummy solution...)""" first of all thank you so much for your answer. I want to ask you How I can define a new storage location for the suppliying plant after 351 M.Type or new monement type I create. How can I develop it in SPRO. I can create a new movement type or copy from 351 but I couldnt find how can assign the storage location after m.type. do you have any document or idea for this ?

Hi,

...I want to ask you How I can define a new storage location for the suppliying plant after 351 M.Type or new monement type I create. How can I develop it in SPRO. I can create a new movement type or copy from 351 but I couldnt find how can assign the storage location after m.type.

I didn't think of such sophisticated thing. In my opinion it would be not a small development.

What I told you is two STOs:

- a simple stock transfer from one storage location of the issuing plant to another ("stock in transit" storage location)

- another STO from stock in transit storage location of issuing plant to the receiving plant (e.g you could use one step STO here)

(- using development you could connect the STOs)

So maybe it would be easier than the solution you thought of (it would be nice of course...)

But in my opinion you should challange the business requirement and consider which is easier: deviate from standard SAP STO process and go into a development or give up this valuation area requirement of business.
