Data slice 9999 combination not possible

Hi Experts,

I have few planning functions:

1. copy version b1 to version b2.

2. copy version b1 to version b3.

When i execute the 1 function it doenst throw any error.

but when i execute the second function it gives me error stating: data slice 9999 combination not possible.

Please Help.

Hi

Check the Data Slice Tab of the Infoprovider on which these planning fucntions awere created.

Probably the name of the DataSlice 9999 exists for b1/b3 version.de-activate it, so that the planning fucntion executes.

Did you try to set inactive to all dataslices ? Did you get this message when all DS deactivated ?

Hi Andrey,

Actually i want dataslices in "active" mode initially. So i havent ticked the inactive button. i have checked the characteristic filters of planning function and data slice as well. but it keeps on giving this error for one of my planning function.

What all needs to be checked if such errors occurs?

Hi.

Again I suggest you to deactivate DS for testing purposes and run planning function - see if you still get error.

Check filter - it should be target restriction - if you want to copy from X to Y set in filter Y.

If you using variable in target filter check if value of variable not contains value that covers by DS.

In planning function check FROM and TO sections: in TO section should be correct value/s according to filter. If you use variable in TO section try to set hard coded values and see whether you get error.

In the tab filters there are no filters. That is no filters are use in my entire planning development.

data slice is cost center(selection is based on cost center)

my data slice is based on selection and characteristic restrictions are as follows:

Value Type for Reporting : Budget

Cost Center : A110101011

Fiscal year : 2010

in planning function characteristic restriction is on:

Value Type for Reporting : Budget

Cost Center :

Fiscal year : 2010

and i m changing budget version.

please suggest.

In planning function what are FROM values ?

FROM Value Type for Reporting : ?

FROM Cost Center : ?

FROM Fiscal year : ?

In planning function what are TO values ?

TO Value Type for Reporting : ?

TO Cost Center : ?

TO Fiscal year : ?

You should use filter to avoid data locking.

Let say you want to copy a next:

FROM Value Type for Reporting : BUDGET TO Value Type for Reporting: FORECAST

FROM Cost Center : A2121212121 TO Cost Center: A333333333

FROM Fiscal year : 2010 TO Fiscal year: 2010

You should create filter (target filter) with TO restrictions ot avoid locking.
