Error: User Status OUTS is active

Former Member

When using IW42 to enter completion comments on a work order, I enter the work order number and green check it. If the work order does not have an underlying notification, I get a 'User status OUTS is active (QNF #1)' error (actually, two identical errors are displayed).

Any ideas?

Paul, Naresh,

I got it. My default notification type was set to M2. In my organization an M2 notification is created with an OUTS user status set and the notification must be "approved" (user status set to APPR) before further processing can be done.

M3 notifications have no such user status restrictions to deal with They're created and the user is off and running.

With my default notification type set to M2, IW42 couldn't get past the user status restrictions.

We tell users to set their default notification type to M3. I'm not sure how mine got set to M2.

I appreciate both of your help. You zeroed me in on the real issue.

Thanks again!

Here is the path to default the transaction notification type.

SPRO - Plant maintenance customer service - Maintenance and service processing -Notification creation - Notification types -Define Transaction Start Values- Select IW21 and default the notification type.

Thanks

Paul,

This particular order did not have 'OUTS' as a WO header or WO operation system or user status. (We only use OUTS (outstanding) as a notification user status.)

The only time I see this particular error in IW42 is if the work order I've specified does not have an underlying notification. It's like IW42 is trying to create a notification (which it'll need for any completion comments). The notification is created OK but with its default OUTS user status set, IW42 is not able to post anything to it and that generates the error message.

Hi,

It looks like the order has a user status (OUTS) assigned that prevents confirmations or order completion.

The user status profile will be visable on the order, click the i icon near the system and user status values.

Transaction OIBS can then be used to look at the settings for that profile and what actions are prevented when value OUTS is active.
