Hi,

We are using SAP enterprise portal version 7.4 SP12 in which our "Browser Document mode" Iview which is under "Content Provided by SAP" folder contains "Browser Document mode" property as "IE=5, IE=EmulateIE7".

I don't want to change this property deliberately. I would like to know which SAP Enterprise portal version having "Browser document mode" property as "IE=Edge" by default.

Hello,

You have to use the Ajax Standards Mode Desktop which uses the Ajax Standards Mode Framework. These contents are available starting from 7.40 SP9 (see note 2001910 - AFP Standards mode support) in Portal Content > Content Provided by SAP > Portal Users > Standard Portal Users.

Best regards, Nicolas

Hi Nicolas,

I need to know about the below warning message which is appearing on Browser Document mode:

As per above screenshot, if i update the SAP Netweaver portal version, my changes will get lost. I want to know in which SAP Netweaver portal version, my default property for browser document mode will be IE=Edge?

Thanks

Saif

Hello,

Following note 2365829 - EP Standards Support, Enterprise Portal is fully supported in standards mode as of 7.40 SP15.

Note that the purpose of browser document mode iView is to force Internet Explorer 11 (and newer version) to render the portal in Quirks mode (see note 2016845 - Using Portal with Internet Explorer in Quirks or Standards as browser document mode). You do not have to change this iView if you would like that IE renders the portal in standards mode, equivalent to set IE=Edge. To do this, you could use the Ajax Standards Mode Desktop as I mentioned in my previous reply. This desktop, available as of 7.4 SP9, uses the Ajax Standards Mode framework which does not contain the Browser Document mode iView.

Another possibility is to use the property Display in separate headerless portal window (standards mode) for iViews which have to be rendered in standards mode, such as UI5 iViews.

Best regards, Nicolas

Hi Saif,

Regarding the use of Standards Mode for your framework page, you can refer to the following links for clarity on this:

- Ajax Framework Page in IE standards mode

- Transitioning Portal Content from Quirks Mode Framework Pages to Standards Mode Framework Pages

If you would like to run your Portal Framework Page in Standards, this would mean that any application that requires Quirks to open would need to be opened in a new window. This new window is navmode=3. Navigation modes are explained under SAP KBA: 2054208 - Navigation Mode Information in EP. Only standards applications will be able to work inside the Portal framework Page.

In addition to this, HTMLB Java Applications render in Quirks. If you would like to run them in Standards, please apply SAP Note: 2249367 - Standards Mode Support - HTMLB

Best Regards,
