Hi,

Yes, suppose you remove a KF that is already called for in the macro then the macro will not give desired results.

You would need to deactivate the macros, add/del the KF in the data view and then do corresponding changes to the maco. Finally activating the macro.

Hi Siva,

Adding to what Bopanna has already said, any deletion or addition of KF in data view which affects the sequence of KFs in macro book affects the functioning of macros. You have to deactivate and activate all the macros which use those KFs which are affected by this change in sequence.

However, if you are adding/deleting KFs from the bottom of the list of KFs in data view, it will not affect the existing sequencing of KFs in macro book, and deactivate/reactivate the macros is not necessary.

Hello Both,

Thanks for you reply.

If I add a new keyfigure in the middle of my data view will the deactivation and activation of macro's alone is enough or do I need to check the logic of the macros once again. Let's say if I have 10 keyfigures in my planning book and I'm inserting a new KF at 5th position. In this case my macro which was using the keyfigure 6th position will now use the keyfigure at 7th position? Please clarify.

Siva.

Hi Siva,

In the example, if you insert a KF at 5th position, the macro which was earlier using the KF at 5th position will still be using KF at 5th position. Since the KF at 5th position is not the same any more, the macro calculation will be wrong. The macro needs to be deactivated, change KF, and regenerated. All macros which were using KFs 5th position onwards will get affected by inserting a new KF at 5th position.

Hi Experts,

I also facing the same issue....(adding KFs in data view)

Kindly clarify my below questions....

1. How to add a KF in between ....ie adding new KF in 5th position among already existing 10KFs? (In data view, while adding new kf automatically it adds at the end of all)

2. If i deactivate all the Macros of particular data view-add new KF-then activate--> enevthough sequence changes....

Will macros function and give results like previous....

Kindly,clarify.

Thanks,

G.Ganesh
