how iPPE is different from normal BOMu2019s used in ECC

Can some one tell me how iPPE is different from normal BOMu2019s used in ECC.

How its beneficial to use it instead of regular BOMu2019s.

Where i can get help about creating iPPE objects (transaction wise flow)

If some one can give real time example it will be a great help.

thanks a lot for your reply.

is it possible to use the IPPE object for production in ECC.

what i understand from the link you sent i can create all master data Material, BOMs routings in one product structure as well as record all the changes done at different stages.

But how this product structure will be helpfull in production?

is it possible to use the same and create plan order or production order.

anothe thing , is there any compaltion like to effectively use iPPE we need to use APO.?
