I am facing a peculiar problem.I am installing Netweaver 7 AS ABAP on AIX 6.1 with DB2 9.1 FP7.

With the Software media i am using i've installed my rest if the systems.it is located in SAN and locally mounted.

I am able to start sapinst but it hangs when i give the input for Export DVD which is the first input. There is no kind of error message after this.

I am executing sapinst with user root which has umask 022 ulimit unlimited.all the AIX pre-requiites for SAP are in place.Giving you the permissions of the media i am using

    Hi,

Actually it should not happen... but you can try the below thing.

    1. change ownership of installer directory with -R as "chown -R root:sapsys <directory_path>

    2. then restart your operating system.

    It should work...

    Regards.

    Hi,

Have you run prerequisite checker before starting the actual installation using SAPInst ?

    Have you analyzed SAPInst Log?

Which version of SAPInst is in use ? [Note 929929 - Latest SAPinst Patch|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/929929]

    sapinst -v

Which version of Java you are using ? (32bit or 64bit ?)

    Regards,

      Hi Surya,

We have a similar issue at the moment, and have already cleaned up the file system. I have a couple of questions for you:

      - Can you tell me if you were using a Distributed Environment?

      - How much Swap Space were you allocating?

      - What adjustments, if any, were made to SAPINST?

Appreciate your feedback from your experience.

      Thanks,

      Steve
