retrieve lost profiles

i lost the default and instance profile files at the OS level for my ECC 6.0 system because of a hardware failure. Unfortunately, we do not have them backed up either. How do i start the system now and how to retrieve them from the DB level once the system is up ? please advise.

- Take the profiles from another system from the same landscape. You need a default-, start- and instance-profile.

- Replace the hostname, sid and instance number with the values of your system

- start the system, logon, transaction RZ10 and save the profiles (this will write the profiles from the database to the filesystem)

- (just to verify everything is ok restart the sap system)

- make sure you have a proper backup next time!
