MDG-S Custom field: LFA1-STCD5 gets erased after CR activation in change scenario

Hi All,

We are facing one issue in MDG-S with storing data for Tax Number 5 using custom field.

In Business Partner, tax categories are supported. While at Vendor level, tax numbers STCD1 to STCD5 are supported. Our client supports only till tax category 4 at configuration level for BP but we had a requirement to extend data model in MDG to support tax number 5 which is at vendor level. So, we have extended entity type BP_VENGEN with custom field ZZSTCD5 for Tax Number 5 mapped to LFA1-STCD5. We have maintained SMT mapping for the same.

The solution works fine in create scenario. However, we are facing issue in one specific change scenario.

Suppose for a country tax categories are maintained, as well as data is maintained for STCD5 through custom field entry during creation process. In change scenario, when user tries to make change in any entity other than BP_VENGEN, the value for LFA1-STCD5 gets updated as blank after activation of CR.

Hi Richa,

this solution is invalid. Tax Mapping for STCD1 to STCD5 as well as some other fields is done by CVI. Your enhancement is not an enhancement but actually a modification violating SAP defined standard system behavior. Especially w.r.t. tax IDs, I strongly recommend using the SAP defined standard. You should also consider the legal aspect of this topic.
