    HI

communications generally in SAP systems: when u say communication then it can be between business partners or between one within one single companyboth of these happen through idocs only but the mechanism is different that is the technique whether u use EDI or ALE . EDI is used in cases where u sent transactional data such as PO, SO etc this does not mean that EDI cant be used within the organisation but mainly not for master data.

ALE is used in commnication between SAP systems for the exchnage of master data so naturally it happens within the system

other important thing is the workflow which communicates a person in case of a change.

    hope this throws some light

revert back if you want more details.

    regards

    Vignesh
