Hi Ankit,
Since you are trying to take the offline backup in compressed format, please try to update the "Compression rates" once through brtools and then start the offline backup.

Most likely it seem to be a network packet drop which resulted to broken pipe issue .

I suggest you to patch your brtools to the latest version and try again...
Also, Read SAP Note 896160 - BRBACKUP ignores file copy errors during disk backups

Hi Ankit,
You might be using disk for taking the backup but from the log it seems the parameter "backup_dev_type" is wrongly set in your init<SID>.sap file. The parameter "backup_dev_type" currently seems to have been set to "pipe" but you are using disk as the storage device as a result of which there is a mismatch. Please re-check the parameter once in the init<SID>.sap file.
Could you please post the contents of init<SID>.sap file here.

Hi,
Just check the initSID.sap for the below parameters (set it as below if it is not)...
backup_type = offline
backup_dev_type = disk
backup_root_dir = J:\sapbackup
stage_root_dir = J:\oracle\SR3\sapbackup
compress = no
May be parameter *backup_root_dir = J:\sapbackup* is wrong in initSID.sap
If it is possible, set it on different drive than "J:"

Seems like you are using a backup_dev_type = pipe in the init<SID>.sap profile, if you are doing a backup to disk then use disk as device
