Message from SAP Education re: SAP BusinessObjects certification exams

Effective April, 2010, there will be new SAP BusinessObjects certification exams available after realignment with the SAP certification program. All existing SAP BusinessObjects exams will be retired at the end of April and will be replaced by the following three exams:

u2022 SAP Certified Application Associate u2013 SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.x

u2022 SAP Certified Application Associate u2013 Crystal Reports 2008

u2022 SAP Certified Application Associate u2013 BusinessObjects Web Intelligence XI 3.x

In addition to the test delivery via applicable Pearson VUE test centers (http://www.pearsonvue.com/busobjects/), the new exams will also be available from April onwards at SAP Education Centers around the world.

For further information on the exams and their availability, please contact to your local SAP Education representative or check online at http://www.sap.com/usa/services/education/certification/index.epx.

The exam codes which should be bookable from mid-March onwards will be:

C_BOCR_08 SAP Certified Application Associate u2013 Crystal Reports 2008

C_BOE_30 SAP Certified Application Associate u2013 SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.x

C_BOWI_30 SAP Certified Application Associate u2013 BusinessObjects Web Intelligence XI 3.x

I want to take up C_BOWI_30 - SAP Certified Application Associate u2013 BusinessObjects Web Intelligence XI 3. I haven't done any Business Objects Certification before. Please provide if any one has the study materials or dumps.

I took BOXI training and got more than 80% in BOXI R2 and more than 95% in R3 upgrade exam. There are many things which they would tell during training ( or in training material only). This makes sense as they prepare the exam so would need to cover all.

Don't know of any dumps.

Hi,

if you want to get certified in Rel.2 you have to do this prior to the 30th of April. If you want to you have to do the following exams:

- sabe201

- sabe301

- sabe401

- sabe501 (optional for upgrade from Rel.2 to XI 3.x)

Beginning 1st of May you only have to do one exam, but are than certified for XI 3.x

the tests arent online. You have to take them in a pearson-vue test center.

They should not have to retake the new exam. If a person has met the complete set of qualifications for a certification before the realignment then they will automatically be "upgraded" to the associate level within SAP's Global Certification program.

Hi Kenneth, I have a unique problem so I have two questions.

1) I am BOXI R2 certified and as per existing certification I just have to give upgrade exam to get 3.x certified. Now after moving to new exam do I have to give while XI 3.x exam again or I can still give upgrade exam?

2) I have passed Crystal Reports 2008 level 1 exam. In this case can I give Level 2 exam on new model and get Crystal 2008 certified or I have to give both level 1 & 2 exam again?

Notice there will 3 SBO exams in the new certification program. If you complete all of your exams (including the upgrade exam) before the new exams take affect, there is nothing you need to do as the prior certification credentials will carry over to the new global certification program. If you did not complete all of the exams, you will be able to take the ONE exam in the category to be considered certified in the SAP global certification program.

Thanks, I got the answer from one of the SAP certified Partner. None of the incomplete exams would be moved over. So I should complete XI 3.0 certification else I have to give 3 exams for xi 3.0 again. Same is for Crystal too.

That is correct and was what I said in my reply. If you are incomplete with the set of older exams, they will not carry forward in the new certification program.

Hi Kenneth, I have one more question. Suppose I complete my certification on 30th April ( or last week of April). In this case my certification would be carried over to new system or there is any deadline and any certification before that only will be carried forward.

According to the FAQ, if you complete your SBO exams in the older format by April 30, you should be fine. After April 30, the new exams will take the place of the current SBO exams.

1. What changes are upcoming for the SAP BusinessObjects certification program?

Effective April 30, 2010, there will be newly updated SAP BusinessObjects certification exams available after realignment with the SAP certification program. All existing SAP BusinessObjects exams will be retired at the end of April and will be replaced by the following three exams which are updated to reflect the most current software releases:

2. Do current certificates keep their validity?

Absolutely; individuals holding a current valid Business Objects certification will not need to recertify.

3. If a test taker is certified on BusinessObjects Certified Professional u2013 Business Objects Enterprise XI R2 and requires only the XI 3.0 upgrade exam (SABE 501) to qualify for the XI 3.0 certificate what should he/she do?

To avoid taking the full certification exam after the retirement of the XI 3.0 upgrade exam the final exam should be taken prior to its retirement at the end of April.

4_. Will there be still a certification for Data Integrator?_

No - the exams for the Business Objects Certified Professional u2013 BusinessObjects Data Integrator certification have been retired.

5. What has changed in the new exams?

They have been updated to the most current software release and the scoring model has been changed to dichotomous scoring. The dichotomous scoring model scores multiple response questions as either correct or incorrect and does not give partial grades for responses. This better reflects the need for SAP customers and partners to know whether a certified individual can perform a task to the complete satisfaction of all concerned. Leaving a question blank is equivalent to a false response. In addition there is now only one exam required to gain the full certification.

6. Will the current certification holders automatically be considered at SAP Associate level?

Yes, those holding the valid BusinessObjects certification in the latest release are entitled to use the SAP Associate certification logo and title but no new certificates will be issued. The former BusinessObjects Certification branding and logo will no longer be used by SAP or provided to test takers.

7. For those who already possess the BOCP-CR XI, there is currently a delta BOCP-CR 2008 update exam to update to CR2008. Will a CR delta exam exist after this realignment?

No, after the realignment there will no longer be a delta exam to update to CR2008. This will be retired in April and not replaced.

8. Will the exam duration change?

The exam duration will be aligned with the rest of the SAP Global Certification program. There will be 80 questions in 3 hours.

I think there may be some confusion here, and I'm not sure if it was cleared up later in this thread. A lot of people are asking this same question.

Pandeyji states, "...else I have to give 3 exams for xi 3.0 again. Same is for Crystal too."

This is not true. The new certification for SAP Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.x is ONE exam. The new Crystal 2008 is ONE exam. So if you have completed your 3 BOE XI R2 exams for Enterprise, but not the update exam for XI 3.x, then you will need to complete the one exam for SAP Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.x, and not three exams. So for Enterprise, if you are only certified in XI R2, your option is to complete the old update exam (SABE 501) before the end of April, or to sit the new C_BOE_30 SAP Certified Application Associate u2013 SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.x exam beginning in May.

I successfully completed BOCP certification exams in month of Dec 2009. And also completed upgrade exam in 19 March 2010. I was told by Pearson VUE that SAP Business Objects will send an official certificate. Still i have not received any certificate. I tried couple of time to contact SAP education, but I could not get any proper response. Could you please help me to know when Iu2019 going to get my certificate.
