Why does my reports blanks out whenever I refresh it?

Please help when ever I refresh my reports and input a new parameter field that i have to show on my report it blanks it out.

Examnple if I want to see a new job number and new lot number or same lot number after I click the ok button the report shows no data on it.

Please help!!!

Don, I think but not sure if one of the table is the culprit coz I need that table for this report. The table is CST and what I did is i removed all the link from this table and the report came backup with data but it has errors because i need some fields from this table. I tried all the link options still did not work. Then I found out that this table is a temporary table,once the form is closed the data in the table is deleted. But I did not close the form, I refreshed it coz I am calling another job on the same open report. That is when it comes back blank no data at all...

Please help...

Should you need the report be attached i will be very glad to do so, please just let me know.

Nice find.....

It looks to me like you are running these reports through some third party application? If so you'll have to discuss the issue with them. If the temp data is gone there is no way that I know of to get it back.

If your report is running only in CR Designer then that temp table is likely created using a Command Object or stored porcedure. In this case you'll have to discuss how and why it is done this way.

Bottom line is CR can only report on data that exists. If your data source some how deletes the data the report uses after the first run you need to look into why it was done this way. Possibly they should have not allowed to refresh the report and you simply have to re-run it again starting from the beginning.

You said to simply have to re-run it again starting from the beginning, unfortunately I tried that closed the report and opened it again, I can see the parameter field and fill out the parameter field and the report takes that but when the report comes out on the screen of my desktop it is empty literally no data on the report.

I am so puzzled... please help....

Call the third party application developer for support. No data means either you don't have access to the data source or it no longer exists in both cases no data will be returned.

If you are using a report with saved data and the new value is not included in the existing data set then you won't get any data. CR will use the saved data and not prompt to log onto the database.

Try logging onto the database first and then hit the refresh button.
