Problem Entering Cost Centre in Project/WBS for AUC

Hi everyone

Business has created a project and enter the investment profile in that project which in result create an AUC automatically for settlement. Problem is they forgot to enter the cost centre against that project so when system has created AUC automatically as result of settlement the cost centre was not copied in the new AUC asset. Now i can enter the cost centre in the project but system is not accepting to enter cost centre witthin new asset and had made the field grey. I have already tried out to reverse settlement, enter cost centre against project and ran the settlement agian but it didn't worked. Is ther any chance i can enter the cost centre against that asset? I hope i have explained in detail but in case you need to inquire anything feel free to ask.

Hi,

I mightn't understand your situation completely,

if you want to assign a cost center into blank-cost-center after Project-WBS element creation automatically with AuC, you just change "Requesting cost center" in your WBS element with AuC. Now, I did it, AuC cost center was assigned from WBS element.

Hope this works also in your place.

Many thanks for your kind help but problem is you can enter the cost centre in WBS and from there if you see the display mode of AUC it will show the cost centre. But if you go to the original asset transaction ie. as02 or as03 it will not show you the cost centre. Can you please confirm whether you can see the cost centre through these transactions?

Otherwise i guess note 838292 might apply but again problem is i can't create the new AUC to transfer values from old AUC(this is extra step for user) as AUC is created automatically and there will be cost coming in it in next two three months. (Its also grey in settlement rule for WBS)

I can see new cost center in AUC in display mode from transaction CJ20N or CJ02, but also from transaction AS03 after saving Project definition. if there're no Cost center in AUC by AS03 despite you will change "Requesting cost center" and save WBS element, I think it can be a program error. I think you have to create a customer message to SAP, because it is possible to my system to do that. but I'm sorry, by any chance, I might not be able to understand your situation completely.

Thanks for your response. I thinks system takes a bit of time to get the cost centre displayed through Transaction AS02 to appear and i can see the cost centre now. Many thanks for your kind cooperatiuon and help.

I don't think if there's serious harm if you don't have the CTR for AUC.

Cost centre is only used for posting/planning depreciation.

I know that but business wanted it for reporting purposes but problem have been resolved and thanks for looking into my thread.
