Depreciation amount of specific period is too large

Dear all,

We settled WBS to Fixed asset(Existed from 30th, May) last month (30th, November).

After additional acquisition, depreciation amount on November was changed. And its amount is too large.

From May, depreciation amount was 81. (May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep was same : 81 )

And on November, depreciation amount was changed from 81 to 827.

Planned amount on December is 205 (Correct amount that reflected addtional acquisition)

Plz help us to solve this problem..

P.S. We are using S/4 Hana, so I can't use "Smoothing" option in Depreciation Key setting..

** Depreciation Key option **

- Base Method : Ordinary: percentage from life (after end of life)

- Decl.Balance Methods : 0.00x / 0.0000% / 0.0000%

- Period Control Methods : 01/01/Z1/Z1

- Changeover Method : No automatic changeover

Hi

The system is behaving as designed.

When you post additional acquisition, depreciation on the additional acquisition is calculated since original date of capitalization.

You said 205 in Dec is correct. So, taking that as basis, 124 (205-81) was posted less in each of the months from May -Nov. So, 124 * 6 months + 81 originally gives you 825

If you dont want that, create a new sub asset and post the additional acquisition there. Thats the recommended solution from SAP

Thank you for the answer.

I shared it with my team members.

I think there are no choices we can consider any more...

Thanks very much!

Well, SAP advises not to do this. I have done this myself, no negative impacts. But better to follow SAP recommendation
