Add extra user fields at MIC level

Folks,

We pass data from SAP to LIMS from user fields (in Master recipe and Inspection plan operations) but now we need to send information at MIC level but SAP only has 3 user fields here ( it has 5+ fields in operations) and thats how we have our whole process planned.

We need 2 more fields at MIC level. We dont have to do enhancement and trying any workaround possible.

1st upper limit or plausible limiit etc fields but they are not avail in qualitative MIC.

Please suggest.

Till now I have found just one workaround that seems to be working for both qualitative and quantitavie MIC.

To create a weighting and assign it to MICs that needs additional values, then add that value in internal description of MIC. and fetch data from PLMK table.

Hello Craig,

If I understand correctly, you mean I should add class characteristic in MIC and add value in characteristic itself?

We need to add value in MIC i.e. for same MIC value can be different in different inspection plans (based on material).

Well. you seemed to be trying to do this for a qualitative characteristic that doesn't lend itself to also trying to use values.

Can I ask why are you going through all this? Why not just create a quantitative characteristic and then you can use the full functionality of having specs and having various values in the plans.

Why must you use a qualitative characteristic? The users must have a value if they need to see specs to determine a pass/fail. Why not just record the actual values?

Hello Craig,

These values are for reporting purposes and will remain for an inspection plan. They will flow to LIMS where we have our dashboards.

Recording results is being done normally and these values are not concerned with pass/fail of inspection. We are tracking time and cost through these values.

Classify your MIC. Create a class (CL02) of class type 005. In the class create and add as many characteristics as you need. In QS21/22 assign the MIC to the class and add your values. The values should then be available via standard classification FM's to grab the values for exporting to an external LIMS.
