Want to make Industry Code1 field as mandatory in my Account Group

Hi,

I wish to make Industry Code1 as mandatory field in my Customer Account Group(IMG>FA>Account Receivable & Pybl>Customer Account>MasterData>Preparations for creating master data>Define Account group with screen layout(customer)>Y004>General data>Marketing>Industry sectors(here i find that there are two fields under it namely, industy code1 and industry but if i make it mandatory, both these fields become mandatory).

My requirement is that only Industry code1 should become mandatory. How to do this.

If this is to be doneby ABAP changes, will it effect the standard functionality, as I require this change to be done for my particular account group Y004.

HI,

Kindly go to the transaction SHD0 and create the variant and made the industry field mandatory .and assign the variant to the Customer master

see once u create the transaction variant ,kindly activate the same by going to standard variants

Hi

You may achieve your requirement by making the field Industry Sector optional for your Account Group, and through some exit you can enter an error message for Industry Code. Or use screen variant through SHD0 transaction to make this field mandatroy.

Hi,

Both the fields becoming Mandatory becauze for both fields SAP provided onely one main group

Both are come under group Industry sector

There is no seprate setting for both
