How to add custom search fields in displayhelpvalues.jsp?

Hi Gurus,

I need to add some more custom search fields in displayhelpvalues.jsp. For this, i have created additional parameter in helpvalues-config.xml. I have mentioned all the required parameters like, additional parameter name, type, column name and description. I am able to see the field in the jsp but the value is not going to the backend. Is there any other parameter i need to pass for these custom search fields? And i also want to know how to create a dropdown in helpvalues-config.xml. There are only 3 types for additional parameter i.e., in , out , inOut but nothing like to create a dropdown. Please help me in providing a solution.
