i am unable to understand what are the PI exceptions / Interafce exceptions
They are the error that occur during message processing within XI/ PI....to handle it you configure alerts/ exception handling.
just the terms used are different...meaning is the same.

can we manually handle the erros in PI ?? if so how can we raise an exception for manually handling the erros??
We create Alerts, which intimate to us that an error has occured and needs attention of the support person.....these alerts can be configured to be send to a mailbox (as an email)....the same procedure of alert raising/ error handling can also be done in an Integration Process (BPM).

Abhishek.

Hi,
PI exceptions / Interafce exceptions are nothing but the error thrown during msg exchange between source and target system..
You can configure alerts to capture exceptions raised by:
1. Adapter Engine - errors in the communication channel/msg monitoring
2. Integration Engine - errors from the integration engine i.e. mapping routing steps etc
3. Business Process Engine - errors raised in your BPM
