We have a requirement around creating several different calculated nodes on our Country dimension hierarchy (user defined BPC dimension) to represent sub-regional breakouts for one of our Operating segments for some of their managerial reporting needs. Basically these calculated nodes are sum of different Country dimension member ID's. We did not want to modify our main hierarchy since it would reflect this for all the Operating segments.
The problem we are seeing is that the FORMULA property gets created with size of 100 characters and the length of the formula we want to implement (e.g. [ID1][ID2]...) seems to exceed 100 chars. We could create several calculated nodes and then group them into one parent node as a workaround but I was wondering if we can change the size of the FORMULA property to 250 characters without causing any problems around the internal workings of the BPC engine given that the FORMULA property is considered as a special property.
Any guidance would be much appreciated.
