BEX Analyzer crashes - A critical program error has occured

Hi all,

we have an issue with one BEX workbook, it crashes when opening via RRMX (BEX Analyzer) with error System.Exception: CriticlaProgramError. There is trace file: bexanalyzertrace-2016-11-25-9-20-56-0.txt

We're using BiAddon 7.40 SP6 Patch1 for Excel 2010.

Please adwice how to troubleshoot it.

* meanwhile in Excel 2007 with BiAddon 7.10 it works with no error.

Did you also experience the same when using other computer/laptop?

If not, I suggest you update your SAP GUI to latest version. I think I also experienced the same when I bought my new laptop with MS Office 2010.

We experience it on our several PC's with SAP GUI 7.30 and 7.40 with latest patches and MSO 2010. Only the config with MSO 2007 with GUI 7.10 works. Can't understand what's wrong with this workbook. Maybe MSO 2010 is the cause. Didn't find any notes describing this.

Yes I think MS Office 2010 is the culprit. I solved mine by using MS Office 2007 instead. 😄

May I ask why do you still use 2010 if you can run it in 2007? Or did you already replaced the 2007 versions with 2010?

Replacing Office 2010 with 2007 is some kind of downgrade, don't want to apply this. It's unclear why other books run perfectly with Office 2010. If there were a tool for workbook troubleshooting in Bex...

I also suggest to upgrade your SAP GUI and Business Explorer to latest version, it may also help you with your problem.
