Posting Keys are defined at Client level. These have the following functions -
1. To which type of account the item can be posted to
2. If the item is a debit or a credit
3. The field status of the additional details at line item level
eg > 40 & 50 are posting keys for G/L accounts. 70 & 75 are for asset transactions.
Field status group defines the field status for each group of G/L accounts which you provide when yo create G/Ls in FS00 (master records)
the FSGs are summarised in oen Field status variant.
This field status variant is then assigned to the company code.
There are both standard Posting Keys and Standard FSGs provided by SAP.
