Assessment using KSU5 and Functional Areas

I am trying to carry out assessments using KSU5 with a functional area for receivers and senders.

However I am unable to use a Functional Area on the receive side. Tried using RKALPSCR, KCIU etc but not sure what could be missing. Does anyone know what I need to do in order to start using Functional Areas on the receiver side?

What if any config (e.g on KCIU, RKALPSCR do I need) or what note should I apply to get this thing working?

Please share your experiences if anyone has solved this issue.

Hi,

I am not sure what you mean when typing: "However I am unable to use a Functional Area on the receive side".

In KSU5 cycle header data there is a field "Derive Func.Area" (T811C FM_DERIVE_FKBER). If this is ticked, the receiver functional area is derived from each distribution receiver automatically.

Using this setting AND the prerequisites you mentioned (SAPNET note 981184,...) you will have correct sender / receiver functional areas in every distribution posting.

Is Cost of sales accounting active in your system? If yes, check SAP note # 981184 and if not you need to first activate 'Cost of sales accounting'.

Cost of Sales is active - tried reading the note earlier and we have applied it earlier - which is why my question - I am unsure which flag/config/note is missing...
