Hi all,
What is the difference between Pay Scale Groups and Pay Grades? In the configuration node for Pay Scale Structure, I can see both and I was wondering if we can use Pay Grades instead of Pay Scale Groups as we don't have any specific distinction for ESG for CAP at my client. The Compensation structure for both hourly and salries employees are same.
Thanks.
Hi,
Basically there is no difference other than terminology in different areas - Table T710 entries vs. T510 entries. However, your Employee Subgroup Groupings are important. If your hourly and salaried truly use the same tables and grade structures then you can point to one grouping, but you must assign a grouping. Please do not use "blank" or "0". This is rarely the case, so to insure that hourly grades cannot be assigned to salaried employees and salaried grades assigned to hourly employees, they should be differentiated by ESG for CAP.
