How to perform Dangerous Goods check for Material Kit Components

Hi Experts,

We might have come across scenarios as such where in we perform Dangerous Goods check in VA02 transaction present in the application toolbar. It generally performs the check on Item Materials.

We have a requirement where in we need to perform the same dangerous goods check for Material Kit components as well. For example in case of a BoM Material it needs to check child material components s well.

We came across some BADI's EHS_DG_001_IMPL , method gram Dangerous Goods Checks in Shipping, but seems it can be only used to a limited extent. The standard function module 'SD_EHS_HAZMAT_CHECK' which actually performs the DG check for main item needs to be executed for sub material components as well.

Let me know if this can be achieved

Best Regards,

Lakshman

I understand that there is no standard SAP solution available for this. Any idea if we can make use of exit/enhancement?

Hello

without the knowledge how you use "EHS" and "MM": no guidance is possible. But a solution is possible (as we are using "kits"). I am not allowed to share the details of this set up. But the starting point is this questions:

- what kind of material types are you using?

- how do you deal with "kit" in MM environment

- what is your standard DG model used in EHS?

- do you use DG exemptions?

etc.

From experience perspective: based on the IT landscape and solution you are using; at least you should think of a 6 month project as you need many input from other areas as well (e.g. how you would like to do the SAP SD integration of DG checks and printing of DG data on documents etc.)

This will not ned a number of ressources but a bunch of money as well

PS: if you use e.g. SAP content: this could be an "add on" challenge in your solution

Hello

we are not using the new options in DG available as with higher releases. The "Kit" topic is an "old" problem (not only in DG area).

DG checks can be executed on "sales order", "Delivery" and "Shipping" level. Not sure if all of the new extensions can be used for all of these subprocesses.

To summerize: the "kit" problem has to be solved only by you. SAP is not delivering a standard solution (and keep in mind the "BOL" (Bill of lading) topic as well (print of DG data on paper). This you must/should consider as well

PS: there are some "rare" examples of "Kit" discussions existing here. But not in combination with DG checks (if i remember correct)
