Posting Quantities To Accounting

Hi All,

I need to post quantities(Hours) from HR to FI during the posting process. So far I have done the following steps:

1. I have turned on the recording of quantities on the cost elements/cost centers for unit of measure 'H' for hours and I also have turned the transfer of quantities at the line item level type 'C' for expense accounts.

2. We are using the OLD posting program to post documents.

After I transfer the docuents I get the following message:

Error Message:

Assign quantity for account 401400

Message no. KI226

Diagnosis

In CO you want to analyze differences between the plan and posted quantities for account 401400. You can only do this if you specify a quantity for each posting.

System Response

The SAP System reminds you to enter a quantity and unit of measure, but allows the posting if the entries are not made. In CO, the SAP System records in the totals record that a posting was made without a quantity specified.

Procedure

Enter a quantity and unit of measure if you can.

If this is not possible, consult the accounts department to check whether quantities must be recorded in account 401400. This can be fixed in cost center planning or order planning and changed if required.

When I look in my PP document, the hours are recorded but with no unit of measure. It seems like the system needs this unit of measure 'H' to be in the payroll posting document to transfer quantities.

The challenge is, I can't seem to find a way for the PP document to record this unit of measure.

Any ideas?

thanks.

JB

Hi,

It seems that you need to assign default measurement unit to the account...

I suggest to ask on FI forum.

Cheers
