As SG63 works on the concept of variable products (which are grouped under BOM of Finished good) and
non variable products (grouped under BOM of Planning material). How does the components of
Planning material gets consumed against the Finished good (i.e. variable material for which sales
order is created) production order
Through MB1A we can do manual Goods Issue of the planning material components
against the FG production order, but what I was looking in terms was ORDER RESERVATIONS generated
when planned order---> production order of the finished good
Note: In our scenario, planning material is a artificial/dummy material. All it generates requirements
for non variable parts
Eshwer,
Are you using planning strategy 60 with planning strategy assigned to the material? if so why not have Order BOM for the sales material, in that case the requirement of components from the planning material would get consumed. Hope you are using collective indicator 2 for the components.

VS:
My requirement is not related to PIR consumption nor requirements are not passing to BOM components
Prasobh:
I am using Strategy 63 (Planning w.plng material w/o mke-to-ord.), and the planning material is assigned
to the variant/sales material. Order BOM of the sales material has all the variable components, while
the BOM of planning material has all the non variable components. Once PIRs are maintained for Plng. material
and MRP is run procurement proposals are created for the components of planning material (which are inventorized),
but I am now clear on how planning mat. components are going to be consumed { apart from manual Goods
issue against prod. order of sales order material }
Collective indicator 2 is maintained for components of planning material (if not maintained, procurement
proposals would not have generated)
