Service cannot be reached in UWL from the ESS tasks

Hi,

When I click on the UWL tasks from the Portal,I am getting the following error:

Service cannot be reached

What has happened?

URL http://host:port/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/mss_catapproval/CatManagerApprove call was terminated because the corresponding service is not available.

Note

The termination occurred in system ECD with error code 404 and for the reason Not found.

The selected virtual host was 0 .

What can I do?

Please select a valid URL.

If you do not yet have a user ID, contact your system administrator.

HTTP 404 - Not found

All the services in sicf Tcode are activated.

Applied SAP note:1088717

Please suggest a solution for the issue.

Goto swfvisu, check if you have an entry for the DC "CATS Approva".

Task - TS31000007

APPLICATION - CatManagerApprove

PACKAGE - sap.com/mss_catapproval.

If entry is not present, create the same.

The mentioned task is already present in our system.But we are still getting the error in UWL.

Check is the iview is present is Content admin & preview from there itselfs.

Check if you deployed the required MSS patch MSS 600 & PCUI_GP 600.

Check if you have applied any SP's recently & try to re-strat J2EE engine if required.

Hi Anil,

The preview of the UWL present in the Content Admin also shows the same error.

The required MSS patch available here are : MSS 600 & PCUI_GP 605.

There is no recent upgradation done.

There could be some other issue for error.Please suggest.

I presume, there is mismatch between the ESS/MSS components and backend ERP component versions.

Check this [Wiki|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPHCM/HOW%20TO%20GET%20RID%20OF%20SP%20STACK%20MISMATCH%20ISSUES] which discribes the appropriate backend and frontend versions for ESS/MSS.

Hi Vishal

It´s easy. In your portal system definition, in the system SAP_ECC_hr or SAP_XSS_webdynpro, in the WAS section you have to define your PORTAL server as server, and the path /webdynpro/dispacther/sap.com

I have resolved the issue by maintaing package, application and system alias in SWFVISU.
