Dear Sir,

I am going to install (SAP R3) CI with DB instance one windows 2003 server and

Application server (Dialog instance) in other host(Windows 2003). Right now both server

are in Vmware. But its not under domain, we have not add the servers into the domain.

After the installtion my application servers, I have to connect my application server

main Database Server.

1. In this case Do we have to add the both windows servers into single domain?.

If its not required add into the domain please let me know?.

Thanks

It's not required for Windows 2003 to be in a domain but you must make sure the common transport directory is accessible from both machines (same passwords etc.)

Hi,

In your case, installing a central system with additional dialog instances. You do not need to include servers in the domain. There is no need to specifically address the accounts within a system between <SID> DB, CI and DI. Verification is based on Kerberos in Windows.

Later systems can move painlessly into the domain that you set up domain accounts and groups (SAPservice <SID>, etc..) And assign them to the services database.

Answer:

You do not need a central installation, installation and / or distributed systems in the domain. If you decide to put it into domain later, it can be.

Hi,

You can perform the local installation instead of domain. Then there will be no need to add into domain if there is not any requirement.

Thanks
