Dear Experts,

Hope you are well.

Is there a way i can increase the cost of my production, on specific items by a particular percentage value, lets say 5% or 2.5%?

Regards,

Feroz Dosani.

Hi Feroz

You could try to add another 'item' to your BOM? If it is a labour type item it will show in additional costs on the summary tab of the production order?

Dear Peter,

Thank you for your reply.

I think i will use your suggestion, and add another item in the 'BOM' and set the cost of that to 1.05 (which = 5%).

I will use this method for the time being until a better option is available.

Hi!

U can do this while booking Receipt from Production Entery. By default the Unit Price of your FG will be the sum of all your childs. But, you can change your unit price to 5% or 2.5% high value.

Dear Thanga Raj.K,

Thank you for your reply.

We have tried using your option, but the problem is that the user keeps forgetting to hike the production cost by 5% or 2.5%, therefore there are more chances of user data entry. To complicate it further is that the increase in cost by 5% and 2.5% is only for selected items, therefore forcing the user to remember which items should be increased and which should not, i think he will not appreciate the system if that is the case.

Hi Feroz Dosani,

What is your inventory valuation method? It would be extremely difficult to manipulate production cost or it might be impossible.

Thanks,

Hi Gordon,

My inventory valuation method is Moving Average.

FYI:- I'm using back flush in my production.
