Integration with MES system

Hi All,

I'm working on integration of APO and MES (production control) system. MES accepts flat file as input. Therefore APO should generate structural flat file as output.

From http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm70/helpdata/en/71/074f68b0d511d5878f0000e82a3c24/content.htm , I found that the FM BAPI_PPDSSRVAPS_SEQGETNEXTORDS can be used to trigger the APO to send out message via ALE. But I dont' know how to configure the ALE, through which planned orders are transferred from APO to a target flat file. Can anybody tell me how to do that? And how should I check whether the message has been successfully sent out of APO?

Thanks for the information. Actually I had experience in configuring ALE. But I don't know how to specify a message type or IDoc type to be used by APO to send out planned orders.

Can your or anybody give hints about this?

This information is very much usefull for me. Can u please tell me whether ur MES system is an SAP or Non SAP system.

What I understand is for a Non SAP MES system, EDI will be used in place of ALE.

And can we use ALE to integrate APO with any non SAP MES system?
