service desk + ibm tivoli service request manager

Hi,

I have fully configured my solution manager service desk.

I want to integrate the service desk with IBM's Maximo. I had gone through SPRO on connecting to the external service desk, but I was not able to really understand how this all works. I understand that we need to do the SPRO customizing on Sol Man. What needs to be done on the external help desk?

have anyone used the Tivoli service request manager? For us, we just want the messages to go out from solution manager to the external service desk, and when the incident is resolved, we need to close the message. No additional functionality required. Can we do this without buying any connectors?
