PR's not getting deleted and recreated during MRP run

Hi,

Could someone please explain the following:

We have MRP running every night with processing key NETCH and planning mode 3 (delete and recreate planning data). We noticed that for some materials with MRP type V2 (automatic reorder point planning) and lot size HB (replenish to maximum stock level) the MRP is not working, i.e. no PR's were created even though the stock went below the reorder point. When looking at the stock/requirements list for a certain material there's just the stock, no other MRP elements. In the MRP list, however, it shows a PR created for the correct amount, but when trying to look at that PR, it says PR doesn't exist.

So apparently a PR was created in the next MRP run after the stock went below the reorder point but since the PR was not confirmed during the following day, something went wrong in the next MRP run. Shouldn't the system just have deleted this PR and created a new one, isn't that what planning mode 3 is for? Instead, the "deleted" PR seems to be hanging somewhere and preventing the MRP from creating a new PR?

Any ideas on what is happening, why and how to fix it are very much appreciated. The system in question is Retail, if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance.

Br,

Henna

have you checked your stock . maybe the stock situation has changed, someone cancelled a goods issue and you are above the reorder point now

recommend to review OSS Note 206666 - MRP: Control parameters during planning

and Note 195623 - MD01: PReq number changes with every planning

and Note 205681 - MRP: Planning file entry for material requirements planning

Mystery solved: we found that someone has indeed been deleting PR's directly from EBAN table via SE16N, that's why there was no NETCH entry in the planning file, the material was not included in the next MRP run and no other traces could be found either.

Henna,

For future reference, SE16N typically has a log. Review tables SE16N_CD_KEY, SE16N_CD_DATA

I've narrowed the problem down to MRP-generated PR's mystically disappearing from the system without first having the deletion flag set (as setting a deletion flag always causes a NETCH entry in the planning file) and without leaving any traces e.g. in the change table. Now the only way I know this can be done is via deleting the PR's directly from table EBAN using transaction SE16N but this cannot have been done since the user group doesn't have access to SE16N. Is there any other way to delete PR's from the system without setting the deletion flag first and without the deletion causing an entry in the planning file?

this is standard SAP design, MRP generated PRs that are not fixed (nobody has done any change manually) will be delelted from the table with the next MRP run. Only PR somebody worked with need to be tracable for auditiors.

But this material hasn't been included in MRP since, because we have MRP running with processing key NETCH. From the MRP list I can see that the last time the material was included in MRP was 20.01.2010 which is when the PR was created.

If the MRP-generated PRs are changed manually, then they do not get deleted in the next run. The status should be N not edited.
