BPM - Requirement for CCMS Setup?

Hi all,

In the BPM setup guide, it says: "The Computing Center Management System or CCMS Alert Monitor (transaction /nrz20) provides the underlying monitoring infrastructure for Business Process Monitoring."

Is there any further information on exactly what CCMS Setup is required at a minimum in the Solution Manager and in the Monitored system for BPM to function correctly?

I read the technical prerequisites which are described in SAP notes 784752 - "BPMon in SAP Solution Manager - Prerequisites" and 521820 - "Availability of Business Process Monitoring". The first note does not reference CCMS, and the second one only makes reference to it if you want to use "CCMS Monitors" in BPM.

To use CCMS monitoring in BPMon, 1st, please implement Note 1293668 as described in Note

521820. This note fix the problem of CCMS monitoring related problem.

About the procedure, you just need to copy and past MTE from RZ20 of related system.

Page 78 describe the steps on CCMS monitoring setup.

(Originally this description is for one of the monitoring topic for PI area.

Create MTE for PI and by using CCMS monitoring of BPMon, include the MTE to the BPMon.

But the page above exactly describe the step that you need to do for CCMS monitoring.

Thanks for your reply.

However, my question is not on how to setup CCMS monitoring - I am trying to find out what is the mimimum setup of CCMS required, both in the Solution Manager system and the monitored system, to allow BPM to work? I am not trying to setup CCMS monitoring, I am talking about any setting up any of the standard key figures, e.g. number of sales documents created per day, etc.

As the BPM documentation says that CCMS is the underlying monitoring structure behind BPM (not just CCMS BPM Monitors), I am trying to determine what the requirements are for CCMS setup in Solution Manager and the managed systems to allow BPM to function correctly.

Hi John

OK.

Yes bpmon use ccms as infrastructure.

But you do not need take care ccms setup setup.

Actually when you setup bpmon in solman

bpmon session and activate it, it automatically

create mte in ccms.

So you do not need to touch ccms.

For bpmon setup what you have to do is following

1. Implement service tools like st-a/pi in satellite and solman

(this is more infra setting of system)

Also several notes to avoid exsting bug

2.define rfc connection in SMSY

3.define business process

4.define bpmon customize in bpmon session
