SAP Netweaver Trial Version under Win 7

Dear Support - Team,

I have a new laptop installed with Win 7 Home Premium 32bit version.

Now i wanted install the trial version from DVD (it was an additional to the book " ABAP Objects in SAP Netweaver).

At first the installer tried to start and needed an addon from MicroSoft and wanted a Reboot of my system,

and then I had to start the setup.exe again.

This was 3 times again.

Now when i try again to install the version 7.0 from dvd, i get the error message:

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:run

Exception in the read:"main"

Now i have tried it again and i get the error:

the installer is unable to run in graphical mode. Try running the installer with the console or silent flag.

????

The graphical mode is 1366 to 768.

What i do wrong?

Do i need the version 7.01 or something else?

Or doesn't run the system under win 7?

I would be very pleased to you, when i get some answers or tipps to solve this problem and i can start my education in programming sap!!

Hi,

as described into the requirements for the Trial version, the JRE version, which the install program used, must have a 1.4.2.x, not a 1.5 or higher - please check your java version.

I used also a Win 7, but I made the installation of the 7.01 Trial version into a VM - the WinXP Mode for Win 7.

at first thanks for your reply.

But when i get an older version of jre a 1.4.2. i have the problem that i may need in other programs a higher version.

Do you know if the Abap trial version 7.01 also runs on Win7??

So I would download this version.

Additional to the apply before:

Now i have installed the Java SE Development Kit 1.4.2_19.

But the error exist again.

A friend said, it could be a error in my graphical installation: i have to choice the agp slot for my graphic card.

but this seems to difficult.

In the system requirements doesn't stand something to this point.

At the moment i'm downloading the version 7.01 but it is a long way because i don't have a great bit rate in my dsl.

When you have another idea i would be very pleased.

I am waiting for a fast answer

Ok now i have the installation finished.

With the new version 7.01

And the program works good i think.
