Transaction Log Shipping during apply SPS Update

Hi Experts,

We have ECC production system installed on Windows OS and MSSQL Server Database and in DR side log shipping is running.

Now we want to update SPS through SPAM. My question is "As the log shipping is running, so if we update SPS in ECC system then will it update in the DR database too? or we have backup and restore the DR database separately."
