Hi All
I am getting this error when i try to run a crystal report in Enterprise Portal. I created crystal Report using iview template and followed the steps from Ingo's book. I am able to run the report from CMC but in enterprise portal when i try to run it gives me this error.
"An error has occurred: The argument has an invalid value ".
Also i get the same error when i try to run the report from /crystal/rptadmin/ in BW system . I am able to see roles and reports but when i try to view the report the get same error.
Any help would be greatly appreciated....
Thank you,
Aparna
I had the same problem with one of my reports. When I tried to save the report, it used to save, but before saving it showed an error box as below.
I found out that the problem was with the DataSource Location. I tried to reset the DataSource location but it gave me the same error. I recreated the report from scratch and it worked for me. The time I took to recreate the report was way less than troubleshooting the problem!

Hi Ingo,
I have upgraded my BOEXI system to XI 3.1 R3 SP3.2 along with the Integration Kit and CR 2008. Before this upgrade my Crystal Reports in iViews on the SAP Netweaver portal were working. Now I get the "An error has occurred: The argument has an invalid value" error.
I am able to publish the reports from CR 2008 to BW and BOE Enterprise. I can run the reports in Infoview and the CMC. I have gone through your Wiki document and had all of the new transports put in place.
Can you please help me figure out why I get this error when I try to view the report on the SAP Netweaver Portal?
Thank you,
Tina

Hi,
We are also facing the same issue, but our scenario is slightly different. We cannot see the entries for the crystal reports under the BOE folder.
we are currently trying to publish the crystal reports via BW role and execute the report in the portal. When we save the crystal report into BW role and BOE (publish automatically to Enterprise is enabled), we are able to view the role folders from the Infoview but the folders are empty. i.e. the crystal reports that were published is not seen under the role folders in Infoview. We can see the report entries in the portal under BW iviews but when we execute the reports we get the below message:
" An error has occurred: The argument has an invalid value"

Anitha

Hi Ingo, Aparna,
I have the same issue when I want refresh report on crystal report as answer to your first question. The Query is correct on Bex.
the report is saved on BW only, not in BOE.

Hi,
when you open the report in the Crystal Reports Designer can you refresh the report without any issues ?
Has the report been save to the BW system and also published to the BusinessObjects system ?
Ingo
