Tracking and tracing in SAP HANA TM

Hi ,

Can anyone explain about the standard functionality in SAP HANA TM for track and trace. I can find "Define transportation service for track and trace" in SAP TM customization but any detailed explanation will be of great help.

Note: We are trying to trace without SAP EM and Global track and trace.

TM has wonderful places to store track and trace (events), what you are seeing. But there is no track and trace functionality out of the box. Have to use Event Manager EM which is in the process of being replaced (enhanced? whatever the SAP marketing machine says) by GTT Global Track and Trace. The challenge here is to define and CAPTURE all of these "events", then that data can be displayed and used in a any number of ways.

You or a carrier can manually record events in TM - Freight Order Execution tab for example. Or Carrier Collaboration portal, entered by you or your carrier. But this is manual, not a good option for most high-volume freight operations
