Using Compensation in the Calibration Process

Hi all

1) Is there anyone in the Community that can share their experience with using compensation in the calibration process to bucket "performance" that doesn't rely on actual performance rating? For example, 50 - 80% of target bonus is Fair, 90 - 120% is Good, >120% is Excellent.

2) Does anyone perform calibration on just one factor (i.e., % of bonus received) instead of 2 factors (i.e., compa ratio and performance rating)?
