Hi Irene!

You can't deinstall the mobile application on the laptop.<br>

You must enter the NetWeaver Mobile Administrator and search for your device in the device administration. Under the "Mobile Application" tab, you must unassign the mobile application you want to deinstall from your device. After the next synchronization, the application will be uninstalled automatically.<br>

Hi Christoph,

I cannot find the Mobile Application tab under my device administrator.

Could you please check that for me? I really cannot find such tab.

Thanks.

Hi Irene!<br>

<br>

The tab is called "Mobile Component(s)".<br>

Then you have to click on the button "Manage MCDs". After that, select the application you want to deinstall and unassign it from your device. Finally, you have to click the "Save" button.<br>

After this, the application will be deinstalled after the following synchonization.<br>

Hi Irene,

deleting the app from a device is not the difficult. The question is: how have you added this one? Usually you do the following:

You enter the SDOE_ADMINISTRATOR. This is a Admin Portal running in the browser. In there you select the device administration and after that your device. Once this is done, you have some tabs, one is for the mobile components and on there you usually have added the app in the very beginning - to get it down to your device. All you do now is to remove it from that list and then sync again. This will delete the app from your machine.

Well, I hope this helps, otherwise I can send some screenshots if requested.

Hi Oliver,

I did not use the DOE Admin to install my application. In fact, I just use my developer studio and deploy the application to my laptop device.

I tried to select the component of the application in device administrator page under "mobile components" tab, but when I select the component, it said: the component dosn't exist. And I cannot find any other menu for me to delete/remove it.

Could you please give me some detail instructions? Thanks so much.

AFAIK, locally deployed applications cannot be administered via the NetWeaver Mobile Administrator (since they are not installed via the DOE).

So I'd say the removal of locally deployed apps should happen locally as well (maybe somewhere in NWDS where you performed the local deployment from?). If there is no such option, then there is obviously the possibility of uninstalling the client and starting afresh. I dont know much about all this, though.

Hi Irene!<br>

<br>

If the application is developed locally and installed there, please try the following:<br>

- go in your NWDS to "Window" and there to "Preferences"<br>

- then you have to choose "Mobile", "Handhelds" and "Runtime Settings"<br>

Here you will find a button "Reset Client Installation". When you now click on "Launch simulator", the applications should be vanished.<br>

<br>

Hope that this is what you are looking for.<br>

Hi Irene,

Christoph has given you the correct answer for that. YOu can not administer local deployment via SDOE, cause there is nothing you can remove. The local device just has its own settings and I have no better way as well, to simply reset the local device and install the new software as you like it.

Oliver
