WBS BOM Explosion in MRP on S/4HANA

Hi,

We have a normal material BOM and also a WBS BOM. In OPPQ customization, we ticked the option for considering WBS BOM. But when we run MRP from MD51, system does not consider WBS BOM, also when we run MRP from MD02, it also does not consider it.

So what do we have to do to make MRP consider WBS BOM instead of material BOM? Also if we have more than one WBS BOM for a material, because the items of the material changes according to new projects, how do MRP determines the correct WBS BOM if we have more than one and also their bom usages are same?

Since the bom explosion logic on S/4HANA is by using production version, however in production version there is no option to use WBS BOM.

The last question is do we have to use Q-stock (project stock) if we use WBS BOM?

Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for the answer. However in note 2350823, it says even if we are using make-to-stock scenario, while creating planned or production order system will look for WBS BOM. But i think it doesn't make sense because if there are several WBS BOMs, then how the system will find the suitable BOM for that order? I also tried it in the system and system couldn't find WBS BOM.

"When creating a planned order or a production order for make-to-stock or make-to-project the routing and BOM are first read without considering the production version."

Hello

According to note 2268069, sourcing does not need production versions to find make-to-order and make-to-project bills of material, but production versions are required to select routings also if make-to-order or make-to-project BOMs are used.

However, the WBS BOM will be only considered if the planned order is linked to the WBS stock (Q-stock).
