HI,

01 and 02 are the indicators basically which tell you when you explode the BOM for the higher level components, whether you should club the lower level components in the planning horizon or create the requirements seperately.

Please indicate if you need further clarifications.

Thanks,

can you elaborate more on this. how it is related to planning horizon? if my planning horizon is 100 days whether system will generate 1 pr for all 100 days requirements, if i set 02 (ind req)? please explain with one example.

Hi,

If your horizon is 100 days,

If yous set 1 as the indicator, the it will only consider each dependent requirement or low level components seperately for creating the planned order/ purchase requisition.\

If you set the indicator as 2, then when you run mrp, the system will club the requirements of the lower components for all the different requirements at the top level and make one single planned order / purchase requisition.

Thanks,

Ariel.

Hi,

Planning horizon relates to how far in the future do you want MRP to consider during calculation of needs / requirements.

Av. Check group decides when an av. check is done in different applications, which rule is picked. Go to OPPJ to know the difference between each of those rules.

Eg: Normally for production order we assign checking rule PP in OPJK during release. Now depending on the Av. check group maintained in the mtl master the corresponding rule is picked.

The av. check group - 01 totals all requirements coming from sales / deliveries for a single day, while 02 would treat each of them individually. So depending on how you want to treat a material during Av. Check, you select a group accordingly.

Dear Vivek, Thanks a lot. In this case both availability check field in mrp3 view and ICI field in MRP4 will be having same meaning? any difference between both of these fields? please advise.

Hi,

They are 2 different things. The ICI determines how MRP considers the requirements, i.e. whether each requirement is to be considered individually or are they to be grouped collectively.

The Av. Check group determines which rule is to be picked during Av. Check.

Hope it clarifies.

Vivek

Hi Yadav,

01 and 02 are the checking group. Availability check is carried out with the help of these checking group and checking rule.

01- Collective requirement.-In this all the requirements in a day are processed at a time. System stores all request and passes on to the MRP in MRP run.

02 - Individual requirement -The system generates the requirement for each order to the MRP

Refer the link for Availability check settings.

Hi ,

Its totaly depend on youe Business scenario , if u r using the daily lot size then u have to use the daily req , & about the Individual req , when your business are expoding the BOm up to low leval & u want to cretete the dependant req or the reservation for the all componanat seperatly for the specific time horizon , at that time u need to selelect the individual req.& one more selection that is collective it will consolidate your re within the time period which u have given or menation in the lo size configuration.
