Auto production order creation for HALB's if production order for FERT is created

Hi All,

Is there a possibility to create Production Order of SFG's (mentioned in BOM components of Finished Material) automatically, if production Order of Finished material is created.

I would like to confirm SFG's production order, do GR and then start release and confirmation of Finished product.

Please do let me know if someone has any ideas for the settings that needs to be done for the same.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Strategy 52 is not MTO it's MTS only FG planned orders are not convertible until you have a sales demand.

Costing can be excluded please consult your FICO consultant.

Please refer the demand management strategy for your requirement.

Hello,

Your requirement looks like you want to produce SFG materials in advance and when sales demand come create FG order and consume the SFG materials.

You can use the planning Strategy like 50 or 52

Create PIR for finished material, and when you run the MRP, it will generate planned order for FG and SFG. The planned order for FG can not be converted to production order. However you can convert SFG order and do the inventory posting for it.

When FG order comes then you can consume these SFG inventory.

Hi Sir,

Not really, It's purely a MTO scenario. The process is when a SO comes into picture then production starts. Initially all the SFG are created and kept in stock and then FG is created consuming all SFG's stock.

Nothing is kept in stock. SFG's as I said are neither costed nor sold, but they are just manufactured to be consumed for FG production. As they are not sold I just want to reduce the labor to create 5 Production Orders when only final assembly is sold but inventory of all SFG's needs to be tracked.

Can you please guide any new way if I am missing something.

Thanks

Hi,

I believe it can be achieved by carefully scheduling MRP and some other jobs.

MRP will create planned orders based on the requirement flowing from FG to SFG, then schedule job for FG plan to production order conversion and after that trigger job for SFG plan to production order conversion schedule.

Similarly you can schedule job for order release as well.

Hello,

Did you try the collective order method in your SAP system , by maintaining special procurement 52 in MRP2 view?

In the standard system, 52 is the special procurement type for direct production (that is, for components that are produced within a collective order).

A collective order consists of the following:

  • A leading order

The leading order is the order at the highest level of the collective order. It is created to manufacture the finished product.

  • Dependent orders

All orders below the leading order are dependent orders. The system automatically creates the dependent orders for the leadingorder. Dependent orders can be subordinate to each other on multiple levels of the collective order.

Hello Sir,

If my understanding is not wrong, collective order is for the process when SFG is directly issued to Production site for consumption to produce FG.

Here, the process is they create SFG1 for one week with some RM and do GRN, SFG2 for another week do GRN. Similarly two other SFG's for the next two weeks and keep them in stock. Fifth week they start production of FG and consume all SFG's.

SFG's are never sold in the market and costing of SFG is also not required, both these things only needs to happen for final assembly.

Point is to save energy to create 5 Production Orders when only final assembly is sold but inventory of all SFG's needs to be tracked.

Can you giude.

Thanks
