BI Launchpad not allowing login

When I try to connect to my BI Launchpad web portal, I get the error "The system is not configured for this application. If you require configuration, contact your system administrator." So I went into Central Configuration Manager and my Automation Framework and BI Agent are both stopped. I start up the two and then it will run for a few minutes then stop again. I assume the BI agent is what is needed to run the BI Launchpad. What would the fix for this be?

I believe this will happen if you have not added a license key in CMC (it has nothing to do with Automation Framework).

That was the problem, our product key was a temporary licence. Now our problem is we are trying to add the permanent product key, but it is not accepting the one from One Launchpad. Do you know if we need to have a seperate license key for CMC, one different than our Crystal Reports liscense?

You don't need a license for CMC at all, but you need one that includes BI Platform in order to use Launchpad. If your CR licenses are desktop, then that won't do it. The "dot" version also needs to match. If you have a key for BI4.1, it won't work in BI4.2.

We have the Crystal Reports Server which does include the BI Platform. And our key says it is for SAP Crystal Reports. I only see on license key in our ONE Launchpad. Also I really think not having the BI Agent running on the Central Configuration Manager is a big key. Maybe if I can get they to stay running it might work.

If you have no current, valid license key applied, then that is very likely the cause of your problem. "BI Agent" may be dependent upon it, but Launchpad is not dependent upon BI Agent (I don't even have it running in my environment).

If the CMC isn't accepting the key, then there is a problem with the key. Note that what you see in the ONE launchpad will only include the keys that have been requested. It's possible that the key you have is for CR desktop, and you just need to submit another request for a server key.

That sounds like a good plan, I will go and request the key. I appreciate the help.

The CCM doesn't show anything about licenses. The Licenses section of the CMC is where you would see that information.

This might also happen if either the Input File Repository Server or the Output File Repository Server is not running. Both have to be running in order to log in to BI Launchpad.

Both of those servers have a running status on the server list in CMC. As for the license issue, we did have an expired license at the same time our BI Launchpad stopped working. If the license has nothing to do with how the BI Launchpad operates, then what would my next step be to figure out why BI Launch Pad isn't working? Do you know if I need to purchase a license for BI to run that?

I didn't say that the "licenses have nothing to do with how BI Launchpad operates." In response to your screenshot of the CCM, I said "the CCM doesn't show anything about licenses." You must have a valid license in order to be able to log in to the system using any credentials other than Administrator.

Since you've verified that both of the file repository servers are running, that is not the issue.

Did you remove the expired license? Do you have an active license? If you have a current support contract, you don't have to pay for a new license, you just have to apply for and get the information from http://launchpad.support.sap.
