    Hi Anuroop,

Please follow the following procedure to start SAP. (If possible take Operating system reboot...)

    login as root

    #su - orasid
    #lsnrctl stop
    #lsnrctl start
    # exit

    # su - sidadm
    # stopsap
    # startsap

Above sequence start the oracle and sap sequentially... (It will stop the service if it is already started...)

I think you have missed the startup sequence ...

If it still not help you, just post the startdb.log, stopdb.log, startsap_.log, stopsap_.log from orasid and sidadm users home directory...

    Regards.

    Hi Anuroop,

I guess your db and ci host are different. hence you require to start the DB first and try executing the startsap command.

Also try with R3trans -d to and paste the trans.log file from where you execute it.

Even if it does not start, try to paste the dev_disp and dev_w0 from /usr/sap/SID/D*/work directory.

    Regards

    Prash

Database <SID> must be started on remote server
Log on to remote server and start database

your DB and CI are running on different hosts.....first login into DB and start your database and start sap from your CI host

If you are installing DB and CI instance on same host then

please check SAP profiles names with extension

I have faced the same issue on EHP7 ERP 6 installation.

When I checked the SAP profiles I found Default profile name is DEFAULT.

I changed it to DEFAULT.PFL and it works for me.

    Regards.
