Fox Code Vs. Script Logic

Hello,

I am trying to make a decision on embedded BPC vs. standalone. The biggest con we have is users know how to write script logic. is script logic easier than FOX code? A good example is we have script logic that utilized GL Account. It does something simple like the below. I guess my question is from experience is FOX more complex than BPC script logic?

Account1 + Account2 - Account3 = Account 4.

Hello,

The decision between BPC stand alone or embedded should be made primarily based on business requirements. For example if a client is already using SAP planning, then it makes sense to start with BPC embedded. If a client is not using anything outside of BPC standard and has no future plans to configure consolidation using RTC then I would say BPC standard is the right choice.

So if eventually we move consolidations to S/4 and only have planning do you think it should be embedded or standalone? We may use it for planning, forecasting and a few other scenario based processes.

To my mind, FOX code is not for users 🙂

Hello Matthew,

I am afraid I cannot answer this questions because the answer depends on a number of things. The best people to answer this question are those thoroughly familiar with the current system, business requirements and licensing issues.
