Hello Gurus,
Let say we have automatic inspection lots created when production order is released. Inspection lot uses sampling procedure which allows only 2 sample size per order set in inspection plan.
Currently we have around 15000 Pcs in one production order for an item but we are going to have Kanban and in future we only going to issue a production order for what ever is needed. So instead of 15000 pcs in production order we are going to have around 15 Production orders of 1000 pcs. My question is how can I deal with automatic inspection lot creation because we still want only 2 samples to test, and definitely donu2019t want 15 inspection lots since there are 15 production orders. Can I use DMR or how can I deal with this issue.
I would really appreciate any input!!!!

Thank you so much for your help. It was really good learning experience.
For now we have decided to do manual inspection lots.
thanks!

Thanks Craig and Sujit for detailed explanation of options.
Unfortunately we are not batch managed, so I will give a try to DMR.
I will update with solution. In the mean time other ideas are still most welcome.

Hi
Better to create DMR on lot basis ,,that is when lot is created Quality level should change.
Now here irrespective of lt size and sample size you can skip the lot.
Just mension the DMR at task list header on lot level.
You can create DMR with
stage seviariy accepted rejected
10 4 1 20 1 10
20 skip 9 10 1 10
This will create a first lot in QI & rest 9 will go to unrestricted.( provided that you have 10 prod orders)
I hope this will help you
otherwise use Control InsLot" " For each Material, batch, storage location" if it is batch managed

Are you batch managed? Will the 15 orders of 1000 pcs be creating the same batch number? I.e. a single batch number for the day?
Or will each be unique?
If each is unique, then you might have to go with DMR. But that is based on number of inspections and not quantity. So if you did 10 orders on Monday, and 15 on Teusday then the 5th order on Tuesday would be inspected, (assuming you insepcted the first on one Monday). But you might have made 1500 pieces on each order on Monday and did 15000 pieces on Monday. If you know every order will be for 1000 then DMR might work well.
If you can use a single batch number for the day, then you can set the 04 inspection lot control to "for each material, batch, storage location". Then you'll get one inspection lot when the first order is receipted. All additonal receipts for the same batch should not create an inspection lot.
