Hello Venkata,

Implementing "NWDI/JDI System Copy Prerequisites", steps 3 to 7, is enough to guarantee a consistent DTR database. This is all you need with regards to migration of NWDI. The rest of the components do not contain source code. Hence, they will be newly installed on the new Window server of yours.

Hello VenkataRao,

1.

It could be done system copy migration of DTR. For more guidance of System Copy, please refer to this document:

SAP NetWeaver DI / JDI System Copy Migration

Please ignore the fact this guide mentions release 7.0. The system copy feature has not been changed since then. (i.m.h.o. this is the best document dedicated to System Copy topic)

Please pay extra close attention to chapter "NWDI/JDI System Copy Prerequisites" especially on steps 3 to 7!

2.

With the system copy of the DTR, the source code will not be migrated at all just copied - f.e. source code stored in DTR of NW AS Java 7.0 will not be change to run on 7.5 if a system copy is done. The migration of the source code is a development project and requires expertise of product architects, database, front-end and back-end experts.

3.

The other parts of NWDI: CMS, CBS and SLD are not migrated but rather upgraded to the higher release. In them there is no custom source code, so just on the newer target release of AS Java, the newer version of these SCAs is deployed.
